Blindfolded speed dating for shifters, what could go wrong?

I spent years fighting alongside some of the best males I’ve ever known. One mission went wrong and I watched as my twin brother died in my arms. Now, I’ve settled into a less dangerous job developing new sonar technology for the military.

My life looks perfect, but I can’t get rid of this feeling I’m missing something. My family and friends keep pushing me to date, hoping I’ll finally find someone to keep me busy. I don’t want Mrs. Right Now… I need my fated mate. My beast drives me to find her, so I keep agreeing to blind dates that end badly.

But when a friend shows up on Halloween with an invite to a shifter speed dating event, I can’t pass on this chance to find my fated mate.

Felix is a fruit bat shifter – yes that’s right, a fruit vat shifter – also known as a flying fox. He is looking for his fated mate which is a more powerful connection than a mate. He is invited to a blind dating event on Halloween where there are several other shifters looking for their mates among five human women. Luna was recently enlightened of the existence of shifters when her sister found her fated mate, now Luna wants the same magical connection with her partner.

This was a very fast read as it is a short story but I didn’t really enjoy it. I can’t count how many times I rolled my eyes because for some reason I found the story too cliché. I gave the story 2 out of 5 stars because although I liked the writing style, it was too short a story for my taste. I felt that there was no character development or world building so I couldn’t connect with the story.
