ARC Review: WITCHES GET STITCHES by JULIETTE CROSS

Hello Readers, welcome back to my blog.

This is another ARC from Netgalley. So far I would say I have made excellent choices in the ARCs I have chosen from Netgalley. I fly through them really fast because I am really enjoying the stories so much.

SUMMARY

Violet Savoie has a plan. A dream, rather. To open her own tattoo shop, which caters to supernaturals in need of permanent charms. As a powerful Seer, she has the potent magic to cast every kind of spell. Except the kind to give werewolves control over their beastly side. and her business partner Nico needs help in the worst kind of way.

Nico Cruz has a secret. A motive, rather. To subtly stalk and seduce Violet until she finally recognises they are fated to be together. Ever since their heated encounter in Austin on New Year’s Eve two years earlier, he’s been dying to get his hands – and his tongue – back on her body. He knows a woman like Violet can’t be courted in the usual way. Luckily, Nico has no scruples about misbehaving to get what he wants.

But when his former pack roams into town, and an old friend is far too interested in Violet, his focus shifts to the threat venturing into his territory. Nico may come across as the quiet, broody one, but the intruders are about to regret stepping foot in New Orleans. And when Violet goes missing, no charm or spell can keep Nico’s wolf at bay.

Violet is an independent, sassy, sarcastic, smart mouthed witch [how many s description did I use?]. Since her Aunt gave her a prediction that she will know her one true love by his eyes, she doesn’t take her relationship with men serious because they are not the one. She is free and fleeting from one relationship to another [or should I call them situationship?] When she meets Nico at a bar, she thinks her relationship with him is just another lust charged encounter that she walks away from quickly. Meanwhile, it is a very different experience for Nico. As a werewolf, he could tell that the connection he had with Violet was special. So, when she ghosts him, he chases after her and moves to her city because he knows she is his mate.

Violet does not make it easy for Nico. She already thinks the relationship is doomed to fail so she chooses to be his friend and nothing more. The dance they lead each other on is palpably sexual and on Nico’s side filled with so much longing for what he knows they can be if Violet will give in to him. While they navigate themselves around each other, they have to deal with centuries old prejudice against werewolves in the supernatural community.

I loved the chemistry between both protagonists and how their relationship grows from friends to lovers. It was so nice to see Violet come to the realisation of who she is to Nico and what she can do for the wider supernatural community. The story had a very natural flow. Aside from the last 3 chapters, which I think could have been condensed; every event was leading to the progression of the story line.

I gave the story 4 out of 5 stars because I think it was well written and the progression of the plot was natural. The friends to lovers troupe are always so heart-warming. I would recommend this story to those who love the friends to lover troupe.
